Town of Southold Deer Hunters: Please be aware of the above species that may show up on your trail cameras or be observed while in the field. You can submit data to the Town of Southold.

Rabbit Hunters and Wildlife Rehabilitators: Please help DEC determine whether the New England Cottontail population is extirpated on Long Island. The Eastern Cottontails and New England Cottontails look similar. The ways to determine the species are through genetic testing of tissue or fecal samples or by examining morphological skull characteristics.
